  1. As reinforced in its statements here, I think Google is getting a little too big for its britches. Recently it threatened to break ties with China, claiming it wasn’t clear when agreements were made to make Google available to the communist nation, that it would be filtering the content its people could access via the search engine. Google can’t actually expect people to believe that it didn’t know China would be controlling its content. Dollar signs pushed aside any feelings about government control of media. Now, it’s decided it just can’t allow this manipulation and have given China an ultimatum, allow the people full access to information or Google will pull out completely. What do you think China’s response was? Something to the effect of, “Fine with us; good-bye”. Did the young owners of Google truly think that China needed them?
